Lady Vamp

It's so good to be back! I've missed you all so much! I just want to say thank you for being patient with me. I'm slowly but surly getting back into the swing of things. For those of you that may be new to my blog, I had a baby fourteen weeks ago and being a busy mom has kept me away from my favorite pastime, blogging. For those that have inquired, baby girl Laithan (pronounced Nathan with an L instead of an N) is doing great and she's growing so fast. She's everything that I could have wanted in a baby girl. She has beautiful brown skin, full plumped lips, a head of curly hair, and the cutest chunky thighs! (See pics of her here.) She is a great addition and completion to my family. As for me, I'm taking everything one day at a time. Mommyhood is a blessing but it is very exhausting. I suffer a little from the baby blues but I'm coming around. Now, I cherish every second of my alone time. When I get a little time to decompress, I always plan to update my blog or my YouTube channel. However, I've always used that time to nap lol. So bare with me as I am taking my time getting back into blogging. I really want to get back into my YouTube channel as well. So if there is anything that you'd like me to address in a video, leave your suggestions in the comment box below and I'll do my best to make it happen. But enough about me, get into this look.

As soon as the weather starts to cool and the leaves start to fall, I fade to black. From my makeup to my wardrobe, everything gets darker. Ever since I was young, I've always loved to infuse a little goth in to my style. I loved the spikes and skulls, and the jet black hair and vampy makeup. Now that I'm maturing, I want to continue to incorporate goth into my personal style. However, I aim to do it in an updated and sophisticated way. For a date night look, black is always chic and sexy. And what woman doesn't love an all black ensemble? I know I do. Add some shimmer and a high heel and you've got yourself a smash hit!

When I laid eyes on this shimmer black skirt, I feel in love. I'm normally a "dress girl" but I've made a conscious effort to incorporate separates into my wardrobe. Being as though this outfit was my first purchase after having the baby, I wanted to buy something that would make me feel sexy. I am in a mommy rut and need an exit route quick, fast, and in a hurry! I wanted to look and feel like my old self again. I was a little a lotta apprehensive about this deep plunge top. My boobs are not my best feature and hell, I didn't know if I would be one hundred percent confident with this post baby body and that style of top. Ultimately, I talked myself into buying it and I didn't look back. I'm glad I did because this top is EVERYTHING!

With my ice blonde hair, I wanted to go dark and vampy for the makeup. I went with a black smoky eye and a black lined lip. (I'm bringing black lip liner back yall!). I filled my lips with a soft pink lippie. I love the contrast of my hair and makeup. I finished the look with a pale gray oversized clutch and Jessica Simpson pumps. My old vintage dinner coat (I call fancy coats "dinner coats") added the finishing touches to my look. Every lady should keep a dinner coat in her closet cus Lord knows, you do not want to put your bubble coat over a cocktail dress. That ain't hot!

 Fashion Thoughts:
1.This top has great structure but it will occasionally slide down. I recommend wearing a good strapless bra to help it stay in place.
2. I am loving the single sole pumps. Platforms are so late and  so played. If you haven't mastered walling in a single sole pump, I suggest you getta practicing. Platforms will slowly start to fade out.
