Straight Flexin

What's good fam? First, let me start by congratulating Ms. Kia Bell for winning the Battle of the Blogs Giveaway. She was representing team KellyMonroe so needless to say, Ms. Kelly won the battle. But she did not win the war! WE SHALL DUAL AGAIN! Lol, Both Kelly and Kia are my girls so congrats once again.

In recent fashion the "plus size" crop top as exploded onto the scene. I have seen numerous plus divas rocking their bare midriffs and being proud of their bodies. It's not news that plus divas everywhere are not afraid to show a little skin. However, plus size retailers are just starting to get hip to the fact that we too want to look young, hip, and trendy. More and more women are stepping out of the box and giving in to the crop top. Personally, I love them, on myself and others. I don't feel that there is a right or wrong way to wear them, you can show as much or as little skin as you want. You can be ratchet or you can be classy, I like a little bit of both lol. If you are a little timid about trying a crop top, try pairing the top with a high waisted, lose fitting or elastic waistband bottom. The high waist will conceal the lower stomach (or "underbelly", as I call it lol) and the lose fit will help to eliminate any extra muffin top that you may have going on. For extra coverage, you can wear a blazer or a jacket as I did, shown in this post. Like I said, you can show as much or as little skin as you want. Just have fun with it! And always be confident.

Here is what I wore last night while having drinks with my BFF. Comfy and casual but still serving Brandie realness, of course. I wouldn't be me if I didn't give "them" something to talk about.

  1. This is really cute. And the green glasses..... WHAT?! Love it!!! I think I can get out of my comfort zone and try the "crop top" tread.
